Strategic Prioritization of CRO’s Service Offerings

Situation

An innovative preclinical contract research organization (CRO) with multiple disruptive service offerings retained Kineticos to evaluate each of their service offerings. Kineticos was asked to analyze market, competitive, customer, and pipeline segments for each market, ultimately providing the client with recommendations on which service offerings to prioritize strategically.

Process

Kineticos met on-site with the client to conduct a day-long workshop designed to understand the client’s current state – technology, key customers, and more. Kineticos also conducted interviews with key stakeholders within the firm, including C-Suite executives and members of the Board of Directors.

To better understand the client’s technologies and service offerings in detail, Kineticos then executed the following for each of the five disruptive service offerings:

  • Quantify the market
  • Identify and analyze key competitors
  • Review biotech and pharma pipeline
  • Conduct interviews of potential customers

Outcome

Leveraging both the data collected and input from Kineticos unique expertise, Kineticos rank-ordered the service offerings for the client, equipping the client with a roadmap for each service offering moving forward.
